There were reports that Zion Williamson the Duke big man would wear the Nike Kyrie 4 instead of the PG 2.5s he’d worn during the sneaker blowout seen ’round the world. Instead, Nike reportedly sent a team of specialists down to Durham, North Carolina, to meet with Williamson the day after the mishap. Per Sports Illustrated‘s Jonathan Jones, Duke head coach Michael Krzyzewski said that Nike flew its “top people” to Duke, where they analyzed Zion’s game and the way shoes performed under his 280-plus pound frame. They then took the findings to China where they oversaw the manufacturing of a more resilient and stable sneaker, which was the revamped Kyrie 4 worn by Williamson last night.

Williamson was asked how hw liked his new sneaks. “The shoes were incredible this game,” Williamson told CBS’s Kevin Skiver. The college phenom was also asked about the specific changes Nike made to the pair. “I couldn’t really specifically tell you if I wanted to,” he said. “I just know they’re a little stronger than the regular Kyrie 4s, so I want to thank Nike for making these, but, yeah, they felt very comfortable.”

Google’s Smart jacket

You can grab the jacket at Levi’s website for $350, and of course, it’s not restricted to Android devices. It plays well with iOS (I tested it, just to make sure), and the music streaming and “What’s Playing” functionality works with all the top streaming services. You can download the app for the jacket over at the Play Store or the App Store.

What’s Trending? Smart Clothing

Jacquard technology is woven right into the sleeve.

Tiny electronics contained in the flexible snap tag connect the Jacquard Threads in the jacket’s cuff in your mobile device. The snap tag lets you know about incoming information, like a phone call, by giving you light and haptic feedback.  The tag also houses the battery which can last up to 2 weeks between USB charges.

Eventually, you will be able to control not just Google services through your clothes, but also third-party services like Spotify and Strava.

Using Algorithms To Create That Perfest Tilored Suit

The company Black Tux unveiled a new and improved fit algorithm that claims to accurately predict how a suit should be tailored, based solely on the measurements customers provide online. The secret is: machine learning, built on a robust data set accrued over the past few years. As Black Tux feeds the algorithm more data on how customers’ measurements have historically correlated with suit sizes and alterations, it gets better at predicting which cuts will work best for future customers.

What the algorithm does for us is take the person’s height, weight, and body type in questions they answer—or a person’s self-submitted measurements and combines it with the height and weight—and then says, based on the measurements of our garments and our historical performance and fit, this is what this person is most likely to wear with X% confidence.
